I already have proprietary MAF sensor cleaner on hand for another project. But carburetor cleaner, brake cleaner, degreaser or even low-grade isopropyl alcohol should not be used on the sensor. They either leave traces on the wire , which will affect the reading, or they could damage it. So MAF cleaner is the way to go.

that function should be built into the system but probably not programmed into the what would have been an option from the dealership. A good Japanese independent specialist should be able to make it functional using a dealer level scan tool

haha...that's what happens when you open Pandora's Box.....all is not lost as a MAF is easy to remove use some carb cleaner and be careful not to damage any internal components. Once cleaned and refitted then see what difference that makes to how the car runs. Also, check you have no air leaks on the intake and especially the exhaust system as this can make an engine run lean and then the oxygen sensors compensate by overfuelling

My Lexus LS600H hybrid runs great. , Accelerates like a rocket, idles smoothly. Pleasant fuel economy around 8-9 kilometres per litre. But out of curiosity I plugged in an OBD2 Ble Driver sensor... and perhaps I shouldn't've done that. It's showing excellent short term fuel trims for both banks. Long term are somewhat high. However, Mass Air Flow is way too high. The engine wants to run rich, and the computer is doing its best to make adjustments. So when my ignorance was bliss I had no concerns, after all the car is running well. Now we go down the rabbit hole of removing and cleaning the MAF sensors, looking for dirty plugs etc. Of course I could ignore the findings and continue to drive happily... but I know I I won't rest till perfection is restored.

Automate ? as in fold in mirrors when you lock it ?

You can only but try - remove as many cosmetic parts as you can such as covers and see what you have then. I remember asking myself the same question when I used to repair Jaguars and the V12 you couldn't see the engine for pipes and hoses and wiring - once you looked beyond the initial dread and awe then you can focus on where you want to be within the engine
